(Photo by Megan Roth\/Lacombe Express) <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Kles-Air donated their time to a family in need by installing a\nfurnace and air conditioner<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A family in Lacombe is feeling the\nlove with a donation of a brand new furnace and air conditioner thanks to the\nFeel the Love program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mehgan and Jeff Tancock were one of\nseven families nominated for the program, and when Kles-Air and Lennox heard\ntheir story they immediately knew they were the candidates for the \u201cFeel the\nLove\u201d program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Tancocks were nominated to help\ntheir youngest son, who has difficulty regulating his temperature resulting\nfrom an accident early in life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhen we were informed we were the\nchosen family it was that really hot and smoky week. Our windows were all open\nand [our son] was on four different puffers,\u201d Jeff said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The family was originally nominated\nfor a new air conditioner, which is normally not something the program provides\nin Canada, according to Kim Olafson, office manager at Kles-Air Mechanical LTD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Feel the Love normally donates a\nfree furnace to families through the Canadian Feel the Love Program. In the\nUnited States it is more common for air conditioners to be needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, after hearing the Tancock\u2019s\nstory, Lennox agreed a new air conditioner was needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe sent the guys out to do an\nassessment, and found that they could do with a new furnace as well. Lennox\nagreed to graciously donate both a furnace and air conditioner to the family,\u201d\nsaid Olafson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the first time Kles-Air has\ndone both a furnace and air conditioner install as part of the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lacombe company has been working\nwith Lennox and their Feel the Love program for the last four years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, the company had a hard\ntime getting nominations for the program. In the end only seven families were nominated\nfor the program and nomination stayed open for an extra two weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Olafson speculates some people are\ndistrustful of the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPeople see the work free and they\njust think, \u2018Yeah right. Nothing in this world is free.\u2019 But it really is, and\nit is a great program that helps families in need,\u201d said Olafson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Olafson says nominations for the\nprogram is open to anyone within Kles-Air\u2019s coverage area, which is roughly\nanywhere within one hour of Lacombe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nominations for the program open in\nMay each year, and the install always takes place the second weekend of\nOctober.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The installation is donated by the\nlocal business partner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Olafson says they never have a\nproblem getting volunteers to donate their time, even on Thanksgiving weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis year, with COVID and\neverything, we had to limit the number of volunteers. We were actually turning\npeople away,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kles-Air is the only company in\nCentral Alberta to work with the Feel the Love program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sheldon Klessens, owner of Kles-Air,\nsays it is a great program and he is happy to help the community through Feel\nthe Love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf there are other businesses who\nwork with Lennox I would encourage them to look into it,\u201d Klessens said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is great to give back to the\ncommunity and help those who need it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some examples of past nominees\nchosen for the program throughout North America include: community figures such\nas teachers, firefighters and volunteers; families facing hard times; veterans;\nsenior citizens living in older homes; and people impacted by natural\ndisasters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The recipient must be the home owner, and have duct work in place to receive help through Feel the Love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lacombeexpress.com\/author\/megan-roth\/\">MEGAN ROTH<\/a>\/Oct. 13, 2020 10:00 a.m&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kles-Air donated their time to a family in need by installing a furnace and air conditioner A family in Lacombe is feeling the love with a donation of a brand new furnace and air conditioner thanks to the Feel the Love program.
